According to the FHP, Smith was riding in an unknown direction in the eastbound lanes of S.R. 50 when he was struck by a vehicle.  Smith was then hit by two other vehicles, according to troopers.

The FHP said two of the three vehicles drove off after the crash.  A 32-year-old man driving a Honda Civic remained at the scene, said troopers, who added that he was not injured.

Troopers later said the driver of one of the vehicles met with investigators in Titusville and said they believed there was no other hit-and-run vehicle involved.
