Grenade never filled with explosives, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office and the explosive ordnance disposal squad were called to a vacant home at 570 North Hard Road on Wednesday evening after a woman found a grenade inside the home.

The OCSO said she placed it outside the home as she waited for officials to get there.

Deputies said the type of grenade the woman found was used by the military for practice but was never filled with explosives.

Residents in two houses nearby chose to vacate their homes.

It's unclear who the grenade may have belonged to.
