Two school resource officers ran to the scene to try to break up the physical altercation. Officers told the girls to stop fighting and tried to pull them apart. They then told the girls that they would be shot with a stun gun if they did not stop fighting.

After the girls ignored several warnings, the officers used a stun gun on both girls. One girl was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center after discovering a stun gun probe had been caught in her bra under her arm and could not be removed by officers.

While investigating the incident officers discovered that both girls had made calls home to their parents informing them that they were going to get into a fight.

Both combatants were transported to Lake County Jail for booking. They were charged with breach of peace and resisting without violence before being released to their respective parents. The two students were also suspended by school administration.
