BUSHNELL, Fla. – A man who Sumter County deputies say has multiple personalities stands accused of seriously injured an infant because the child interfered with his sex life.

Terrance Walker, also known as Shadow, was arrested on charges of aggravated child abuse.  Noemi Diaz, the child's mother, faces child neglect charges.

According to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office, the baby, whose age was not released, suffered fractures of both femurs and had bruising, possibly from previous abuse.

Diaz told detectives that Walker has multiple personalities and Shadow told her several weeks ago that he was annoyed and wanted to harm the baby because the child interrupted their sex life.

Diaz said she spoke with Shadow about her concerns and made him promise not to hurt the baby.  Diaz also stated that she wanted to give up her parental rights of the infant because she was unable to care for the child.

A detective also spoke with Walker, who deputies said initially denied any knowledge about the baby's injuries.  He added, however, that he has multiple personalities that he cannot control, deputies said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Walker said one of his personalities, Shadow, may have caused the baby's injuries.  The detective then asked if he could speak to Shadow and Walker "transitioned" into the personality, deputies said.

Shadow admitted that he intentionally hurt baby, saying the baby's screeching caused him to do it.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrested Walker and Diaz and booked them into jail.
