ORLANDO, Fla. – Prosecutors have dropped charges against four Orlando City Soccer fans who were arrested after a brawl at a game in St. Petersburg in July.
Charles Tolman, one of the men arrested, tells Local 6 he feels vindicated.
"I was just beyond happy, because one that's a weight being lifted off my shoulders," Tolman said.
Tolman and 24-year-old Stephen Marva were arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer.
Jimmy Galvez, 28, and 24-year-old Jared Ambrose were arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication.
The Pinellas County State Attorney's Office will not be filing charges against them.
Tolman and his attorney believe what swayed prosecutors was video shot by a news agency that showed Tolman being beaten in the stands by at least three men.
Orlando City Soccer was playing the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Orlando City Soccer took immediate action after the arrests, suspending the two supporter groups the men belong to, the Ruckus and the Iron Lion Firm.
The Ruckus has since been reinstated.
The four men were also banned from attending games, but one of those suspensions has been lifted. A spokesperson told Local 6 they are working with the other men.
