Man robbed while selling Xbox during meetup in Clermont

Man tried to sell gaming unit on Offer Up app

CLERMONT, Fla. – Police in Clermont are searching for two men who they say robbed a man who tried to sell his Xbox through the app Offer Up.

Officers said the victim arranged to meet two buyers Sunday night at the Osprey Ridge Apartments after he listed the gaming system on the app.

Investigators said the three men ended up across the street at the Clermont Yacht Club when the suspects asked the victim to drive them to set up the system. Officers said the buyers pulled out a gun and ran off with the gaming system.

Officers said both culprits were described as teens. Investigators said one had dental braces and was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, a dark jacket and athletic shorts. The other was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark colored tight sweatpants.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is being asked to call Clermont police.
