Coast Guard rescues 2 people from boat fire near Titusville

Boaters taken to Parrish Medical Center in stable condition

TITUSVILLE, Fla – Two boaters were rescued Wednesday night by the Coast Guard after their 48-foot catamaran caught fire on the Indian River, near Titusville.

According to a news release, the Coast Guard was notified via radio that two boaters were awakened by smoke and their 48-foot catamaran was on fire.

The Port Canaveral Coast Guard Station launched a crew, which found and rescued the boaters.

After the rescue, the boaters were taken to Marina Park, where an EMS took them to Parrish Medical Center in stable condition. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
