Computer tech turns in accused child porn offender, police say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man was arrested on several child pornography charges in Daytona Beach on Friday, police said.

Daytona Beach Police Department officials said they were contacted by Ormond Beach police on Nov. 14 after a computer technician reported more than 50 search terms on a computer brought him by Lee Roy Holmes, 73, who told him his computer kept crashing and needed repair.

The computer technician said Holmes searched for terms that included, "young boys erection, nude underage girls" and "young pre-teen brother and sister incest," and also reported the search terms were dated back as far as six months prior.

Daytona Beach police said after they got a search warrant and obtained the computer, they found 17 images depicting child pornography.

An officer who spoke to Holmes said he admitted to actively searching for child pornography for at least one year, and that after he downloads it, he deletes it.

Police said during their investigation, they found Holmes was additionally in possession of 10 or more images of child pornography that contained a child who is younger than 5 years old.

Holmes was arrested Friday on 17 charges of possession of photos of sexual performances by a child, a felony.
