PALM COAST, Fla. – Bones found by a construction crew Thursday in Flagler County have been identified as human and are 150 years old, deputies said.
The discovery was made around 12:20 p.m. on Calle Del Sur in the Hammock Dunes area of Flagler County.
A construction company contacted the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, saying the crew was installing a foundation when the discovery was made.
"They appear to be very old bones," the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. "The bones will be processed to determine sex and age, as well as how long the bones were buried."
No foul play is suspected, deputies said.
Deputies said that based on the new information, there is no relationship to any open case that FCSO is working.
Detectives will work with officials to determine if more investigation is needed.
