Police search for 3 in aggravated assault investigation on UCF campus

Men pull gun in parking lot at Sigma Chi house, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Central Florida police are searching for three men in connection with an aggravated assault investigation on campus.

Police said they were called to a report of an aggravated assault on campus at 4:30 a.m. Friday at the Sigma Chi house on Greek Park Court.

According to officials, the men approached chapter members sitting on the front porch, questioned them and "began to walk through the parking lot and suspiciously look at cars."

When the fraternity members asked the men to leave, one of the men pulled out a silver handgun, police said. No injuries were reported.

The men left campus on Gemini Boulevard in a silver Mustang with chrome wheels and turned on Alafaya Trail.

Police described the trio as a white man wearing a yellow hoodie, a black man with a gray hoodie and a Middle Eastern man wearing a hoodie. No other suspect descriptions were immediately available.

Police said they believe the that incident was a random act of crime and alerted students to the assault investigation.
