WINTER PARK, Fla. – A pickup truck crashed into a fire hydrant and overturned in Winter Park early Friday, causing Fairbanks Avenue to flood.
The crash forced officials to close the westbound lanes of Fairbanks near U.S. Highway 17-92. One lane was reopened more than six hours later.
Investigators told Local 6 that the pickup was speeding just after midnight when it clipped a power pole and struck the hydrant, spewing water into the street.
Crews were working to clear the roadway.
The driver's condition was not immediately known.
