Day care suspends girl over cheese sandwich

Girl suspended for 3 days due to day care's policy

OTTAWA, Canada – A 2-year-old Canadian girl was suspended from her day care center for three days for bringing a cheese sandwich into the building.

Faith Murray's parents tell CBC News their little daughter must have grabbed the small sandwich without them realizing it before leaving for day care.

When they arrived, Faith's parents say the punishment was swift.

"She was two steps in when one of the teachers saw it and handed it back to me," Randy Murray, Faith's father, told CBC News. "The next thing I know we're told we're suspended for three days."

The day care center says it has a strict policy banning outside food in order to protect students and teachers who have food allergies.
