Man kidnapped from Orange County store found shot to death, deputies say

Friends saw man being forced into car at Kwik Stop on Powers Drive

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man who was kidnapped at gunpoint late Thursday night from an Orange County convenience store was found shot to death, deputies said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Alexander Previlus, 21, was found dead around 4 a.m. Friday near the 7000 block of Coral Cove Drive.

Deputies said two men in a light-colored sedan kidnapped Previlus at gunpoint just before midnight Thursday at the Kwik Stop on Powers Drive near Silver Star Road in Orlando.

Orion Davis told News 6 that he woke up to deputies at his door and investigators rolling tape around his backyard.

"I didn't know what to expect. I just figured that maybe they had a question for me this morning, and when he told me what happened, (I was) kind of surprised about that," Davis said.

Davis said the ordeal left his family shaken up.

"(The culprits) don't even seem to have respect for law and order. They don't even respect life. (It's) kind of scary," he said.

The Sheriff's Office said two potential suspects have been identified and are cooperating with detectives. The vehicle spotted leaving the gas station was also recovered, deputies said.

A motive for the kidnapping has not been released.

Shortly after the kidnapping, Previlus' family pleaded for help.

"We're trying to find out where he could be, because we have no answers," a woman told News 6 early Friday.

An investigation is continuing.
