Deputies search for person of interest in missing woman's case

Family members have not had contact with Tia Bonta since July 31

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person of interest in the case of a woman reported missing in the wooded area of Cleburne Road.

The 25 member search team has been looking for Tia Bonta since 8:30 a.m. Friday morning.

Deputies are searching for James Dellofield as the person of interest in Bonta's disappearance. Bonta was last seen with Dellofield at Days Inn at Colonial Drive and Alafaya Trail on July 31.

The missing persons report for Bonta on Aug. 5 was filed after her father Kevin Bonta told deputies that he had not had contact with his daughter since July 31.

Bonta told police that “it is not normal for Tia not to contact someone for this long.”

Tia was last seen wearing an unknown color tank top, black pans and white shoes, deputies said.

Kevin Bonta told deputies that he was told she was last seen getting into an unknown car with someone named JD at the Day’s Inn on East Colonial Drive.

JD  told police that he had dropped Tia off at a unknown home near Buck Road and Cleburne Road.

Kevin Bonta told police that he picked his daughter up from a home off Cleburne Road in the past.

“Our detectives have been working this case tirelessly on behalf of the Bonta family,” public information officer Jane Watrel said.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Tia Bonta, you are urged to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 407-836-HELP.
