The Sheriff's office sent its helicopter to the area of Portugese Beach and located the Black Labrador named Oreo.

Deputy Henri Boustany attached himself to a 100-foot line and was lowered down to Oreo, who was standing on a small, 2-foot by 2-foot ledge.

Boustany says he was able to hook onto the dog's chest harness to make Oreo secure before being pulled up. Once the dog was safe, the pilot brought Boustany and Oreo to the top of the cliff to reunite the dog with its owner.
