The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a van ricocheted off several cars and due to the medical episode continued to drive until the car hit a light pole and stopped.

A Sanford police officer's car was involved in the crash. Troopers said six cars were hit in total.

Three people were taken to a hospital, troopers said. The FHP said it will have a medical evaluation of the driver, but did not believe impairment was a factor. A man and a woman were inside the van at the time.

FHP PIO Sgt. Kim Montes said all the cars were hit in one crash, and the crash is not considered a hit-and-run.
