Driver shot during altercation in Seminole County

Victim goes to nearby gas station for help

LAKE MARY, Fla. – A driver was shot early Friday in Seminole County, deputies said.

The shooting was reported around 3 a.m. on State Road 46 near Lake Mary Boulevard.

Seminole County sheriff's deputies said two drivers, who knew each other, got into an altercation on State Road 415, and one of them opened fire on SR 46 near Lake Mary Boulevard. Deputies said the other driver was struck by gunfire and crashed into a ditch.

The shooting victim went to a nearby RaceTrac gas station to seek help, deputies said. He's expected to be OK.

The driver who shot the man got away and has not been located.

Deputies said they no longer consider the shooting a road rage incident. It's not known what the men were fighting about.
