ORLANDO, Fla. – If you're looking for a new place to eat and shop, the East End Market opened its doors Friday in Orlando.
When you drive by the East End Market at 3201 Corrine Drive in Orlando, you will notice the fresh vegetable gardens growing outside. That's the foundation of what the market is all about and what you will find inside.
"We put a lot of bait in the water because there is a lot of great food to experience and distill it down into one building," said John Rife, owner of East End Market.
There are 20 merchants spread out on two floors. The indoor market is full of fresh, local, organic and seasonal foods in all different shapes and colors.
There's even a new way to drink coffee at Lineage Roasting, serving up only roasted coffee beans that are in harvest season.
"We source coffees and we bring them in and roast coffees that bring the story to life and maximize its flavor profile," said Jarrett Johnson, owner of Lineage Roasting.
From a popular juice bar with organic and local juices to hand made topiaries and arrangements using local plants, there is plenty of variety offered.
The market also has vintage furniture you can buy or rent and there's also a restaurant.
Rife said he hopes bringing all the small businesses in together will impact the local economy.
