Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to honor fallen airmen

Pilots killed in March 14 crash in New Mexico

A note prompts officials to evacuate a building at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Two fallen airmen with ties to Volusia County will be remembered during vigils at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. 

Vigils will be held Friday for U.S. Air Force Capt. Andrew Becker and 1st Lt. Frederick "Drew" Dellecker.

The airmen were killed March 14 when their plane crashed during a training exercise in New Mexico. 

 

A third pilot also died in the crash. 

 

Becker was a 2007 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. 

 

Dellecker was a native of Ormond Beach and graduated from Seabreeze High School.
