Dozens displaced after fire ignites at Orlando apartment complex

10 apartment units affected by blaze, fire officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A fire ignited at an Orlando complex on Monday afternoon, damaging at least 10 apartments and displacing dozens of residents, according to officials.

The fire was reported at the Metro Place Apartments on South Kirkman Road when it sparked on the first floor and quickly spread, moving up an outside wall and impacting three floors of the complex.

Orlando Fire Department said they estimate 10 units and dozens of people were affected by the fire, but are still assessing the damage and a total number.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but fire officials say they believe it was accidental.
