Fisherman finds ATM at bottom of Flagler County retention pond

PALM COAST, Fla. – Flagler County deputies are investigating how an ATM ended up at a retention pond last week.

Deputies said a fisherman found an ATM while fishing off the road in the 1500 block of Royal Palms Parkway.

The fisherman told deputies that the water levels are normally not as low, and when he arrived, he noticed something large in the water for the first time.

The gray ATM was found about one-foot under water at the bottom of the retention pond, appearing to have been opened, according to the deputies.

Deputies said the machine had not been reported stolen, so they have not been able to determine where it came from.
