Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run crash

Jeannie Petrie, 31, arrested for leaving scene of crash, suspended license

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Osceola County Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at Marigold Avenue and San Remo Road in Kissimmee at 9:30 p.m.

FHP identified the pedestrian as Alexis Perez, 31, of Kissimmee.

Jeannie Petrie, 31, of Kissimmee, was driving a Volvo northbound on Marigold Avenue when Perez was attempting to cross that street, FHP said.

Perez  walked in the direct path of the Volvo. Petrie then struck and ran over the her, troopers said.

Petrie left the scene of the accident.

Troopers said Perez died at the scene.

Petrie was located by authorities at her residence and was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.

She is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and driving while license suspended.

FHP is investigating the accident.
