Statewide alert canceled for missing children FDLE says children may have been with their father, who's a murder suspect
FELLSMERE, Fla. – A statewide alert for two missing children in Indian River County was canceled Friday, authorities said.
Investigators said earlier this week that they were searching for 4-year-old Edward Gamez and 10-month-old Lizeht Gamez-Flores.
No details about their recovery have been released. News 6 has reached out to the Fellsmere Police Department for comment.
Officials believe the children were with their father, Edward Gamez Sr., and his girlfriend, Maria Lopez.
Gamez Sr. is a suspect in a murder case in Vero Beach, officials said.
