Lindsey Michelle Wilson died after she was taken to the Halifax Health Medical Center, a news release from the FHP said.

A man from Deland, 55-year-old Thomas Farrar, suffered serious injuries in the crash. He’s being treated at Central Florida Hospital, according to police.

Wilson was heading west on U.S. Highway 92, approaching West Parkway, not far from International Speedway Boulevard, when she rear-ended Farrar’s Ford F-150 truck, which was stopped at a red light, police said.

Wilson, behind the wheel of a 2005 Ford Element, set off a chain reaction: her SUV slammed into the back of Farrar's truck, the truck was then pushed into the rear of a Nissan Versa, the Nissan Versa in turn hit the back of a Honda Civic, and the fifth vehicle was hit by debris from all the other activity, police said.

All the drivers but Wilson were stopped at the red light at the time.

The wreck remains under investigation.
