Getting Results Award Winner: Good Source Staffing Vice President

Good Source Staffing: Providing jobs for the region's homeless

ORLANDO, Fla. – Yvette Hernandez, Vice President of Staffing for GoodSource Staffing, is this week's Getting Results Award winner.

Hernandez helped start the service, which is a division of Goodwill Industries, a year ago.

"Our goal is to build lives that work," she says, as she explains the mission of GoodSource. "We're here to help people that have barriers to employment, such as homelessness, housing insecurity and long-term unemployment."

GoodSource works with the hospitality industry, area venues like the Citrus Bowl and Amway Center as well as local government and Goodwill stores to provide jobs for those who need them.

Hernandez says GoodSource has had success by offering programs that make the transition back to steady employment an easy one.

GoodSource offers computer classes, clothing vouchers, tutorials and even hygiene kits for those that need it.

"A job means self worth, a job means hope, a job means food, a job means happiness," she says. "It makes them feel validated."

GoodSource has placed nearly 300 people into jobs so far with 21 of those finding permanent full time work.
