Gunman on loose after shooting man at Brevard condo complex

PALM BAY, Fla. – Palm Bay police are searching for a gunman who entered a condo through a sliding-glass door and shot a man during an altercation, officials said.

The shooting was reported late Tuesday at the Country Gardens Condos near 1600 Sunny Brook Lane in Palm Bay.

According to police, two men got into an altercation, and one of them was shot in the leg. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, police said.

The shooter fled after the shooting. Police said there may have been another person waiting for him in a getaway car.

Palm Bay police said they are trying to determine if the shooter and victim knew each other.
