Kitchen fire damages Orange County apartment

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An east Orange County apartment was damaged after a kitchen fire, according to officials.

The fire happened at the Carlton Arm apartment complex on Jamestown Drive in east Orange County, shortly after 6 p.m.

Orange County Fire Crews arrived on scene to find smoke and flames coming from the first floor apartment. Crews were able to extinguish the fire in less than 50 minutes.

No one was injured.

There was smoke damage to the apartment directly above the fire unit. There was no smoke or fire damage to any additional units.

The Red Cross is assisting one resident with temporary lodging. Two adult residents from the upstairs apartment will stay with family members for the remainder of the evening.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
