CLERMONT, Fla. - Two hikers were struck by lightning Saturday while walking through the woods at Lake Louisa State Park.
Lake County firefighters were called to the park off U.S. Highway 27 around 1:30 p.m. Saturday after a report of a lightning strike to a person.
Firefighters had to use a brush truck to locate the hikers, a man and a woman, who were in the north end of the park, officials said.
The woman called 911 after storms rolled through. The man she was with was reported to have been struck in the head by lightning, officials said.
Firefighters said both the man and woman were struck and taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.
