Fire breaks out at DeLand VFW post

State Fire Marshal’s Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives is investigating

DeLAND, Fla. – Firefighters in DeLand responded to a burning Veterans of Foreign Wars post late Friday.

Heavy, dark smoke could be seen pushing through the roof and eaves of VFW Post 2380 upon firefighters’ arrival around 10:09 p.m., the DeLand Fire Department said on social media.

Located at 510 S. Alabama Avenue, the building was cleared to ensure there were no occupants, according to the post.

No injuries were reported.

The fire department said it had four units working the scene with assistance from Volusia County Fire Rescue.

The State Fire Marshal’s Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives is investigating the cause of the blaze, the post states.
