No one was struck by the bullet, and the extent of the 14-year-old boy’s injuries were not released.

When deputies responded, Serrano ran through nearby yards and left in a vehicle.

The sheriff’s office said deputies searched the area and found a black ski mask, a black hoodie and a Coach bag with a handgun inside. They also found a shell casing, deputies said.

Investigators said Serrano’s father picked him up from the shooting scene.

Deputies also arrested the boy’s father for violating an active injunction ordering him to have no unsupervised contact with the boy.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood posted on X, saying in part, "Where did this 16-year-old get a gun to bring to a fight? He says he bought it from another kid on Instagram.”

Serrano faces charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.
