Orlando's first mountain bike park opens

Ribbon-cutting was held Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando has its first mountain bike park and it's located in the Coytown neighborhood.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Commissioner Patty Sheehan and Commissioner Robert F. Stuart helped cut the opening ribbon at the new mountain bike park located in Lake Druid Park.

The 22-acre park includes;

a more than 4-acre mountain bike area for non-motorized bikes, including a 12,000 square-foot pump track; a nearly 1-mile wooded bike trail; and a 2,000 square-foot youth pump track.

a 9,000 square-foot community garden.

a 2-acre grass field.

a 1,500 square-foot fenced dog run area, which will be expanded at a future date.

35 newly-planted trees.

a 10-foot-wide concrete multiuse path leading from the entrance of the park to the mountain bike area.

new benches and drinking fountains.

Lake Druid Park is located at 899 Coy Drive in Orlando.
