LONGWOOD, Fla. – A Longwood man accused of planning to lure families to an abandoned home to rape and kill children will plead not guilty, his lawyer said at an arraignment on Tuesday.
Shawn Thomas, 29, is charged with premeditated attempted homicide, attempted sexual assault on a victim under 12 and 10 counts of possession of child pornography, police say.

Investigators arrested Thomas in June after receiving a tip. Thomas was planning to lure his victims to the house under the guise of producing a film or TV show.
State agents said later in June that more victims had come forward saying they almost fell victim to a rape and murder plot disguised by a movie deal.
Thomas is being held at Seminole County jail on no bond.
Thomas' next court date is Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m.
