Orange County investigators search for man

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County deputies are searching for a man they said was confronted on Tuesday for stealing money at George’s Hideaway Bar and retaliated by hitting the victim he stole from, knocking him out, police said.

The victim confronted a man for stealing money from him at 7:30 p.m. at the bar on Edgewater Drive, deputies said.

When the victim walked outside the bar, the man punched the victim, causing him to fall and hit his head, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was unresponsive when Orange County Fire Rescue arrived, and CPR was used on him. He was taken to the hospital and has extensive life-threatening injuries from the attack, the Sheriff’s Office said.

A bartender at George’s Hideaway Bar told News 6 the victim is a regular who comes in once a week. She described him as a nice person who even bought the man deputies say hit him a shot of Patron before he was attacked.

The man involved in the attack has not been identified and remains at large. The sheriff’s office released photos and surveillance video from George’s Hideaway Bar to help identify him.
