On Sept. 21, a 2001 Honda was set on fire in someone's driveway. Three other vehicle fires occurred in the same community on Sept. 29, Oct. 7 and Oct. 13, two of the cars being law enforcement vehicles.

On Oct. 20, an officer was on stake out in the same community and saw a man, later identified as Martin,  standing by a patrol vehicle, pouring flammable accelerant under the hood below the windshield wipes on the driver's side.

The officer chased after Martin but lost him, according to deputies.

Deputies  said they received several calls that Martin was responsible for the arson cases, saying Martin had shared with him about how he set the fires and ran from officers.

During Martin's interview, he denied being involved and refused to take a polygraph test, according to deputies.

He was booked into Marion County jail on $60,000 bond.
