Man pepper-sprays, steals from child at bus stop, OCSO says

Suspect allegedly steals 11-year-old's Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County deputies are searching for a man they say pepper-sprayed and robbed an 11-year-old boy who was walking to his school bus stop near 3200 Hiawassee Road the morning of Nov. 7.

Deputies have described the suspect as a black male, 17-20 years old.

The man asked the boy if he could use his cellphone, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, before the boy told him he didn't have one and turned around.

Deputies said the man then said, "Hey!" prompting the boy to turn around. That's when the man pepper-sprayed the 11-year-old boy in the face.

The man then stole the boy's Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime and left in the southbound direction on Hiawassee Road, according to the OCSO.

OCSO asks that anyone with information call 800-423-TIPS. Anyone with information may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
