Judge orders woman to state mental hospital, after psychotic episode at treatment facility

Judge call her ‘deceptive and dangerous to herself and others'

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A judge ordered Ebony Wilkerson to a state mental hospital at a hearing on Friday.

Judged called Wilkerson deceptive and dangerous to herself and other at the hearing.

The hearing comes two months after Ebony Wilkerson was taken into custody after a psychotic episode.

Prosecutors said she stopped taking her medication and suffered a "psychotic episode" at a treatment facility.

Wilkerson had been out on a conditional release after being found not guilty by reason of insanity on child abuse charges following the 2014 incident.

Prosecutors had asked a judge to revoke that release, but a hearing to determine a decision was delayed. More testimony on Wilkerson's mental history and testimony from her husband are expected at the Friday afternoon hearing.

It is still undecided which mental hospital Wilkerson will go to.
