DeLAND, Fla. – Two people are dead and another person was hospitalized in a head-on crash in DeLand, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal crash happened Saturday night near Spring Garden Avenue and Woodland Boulevard.

Troopers said a Chrysler van was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Spring Garden Avenue when it crashed head-on into a black Honda SUV.
The driver of the Chrysler and a passenger of the SUV were pronounced dead, troopers said.
The driver of the SUV was airlifted to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Volusia Fire Rescue personnel advised drivers to avoid the area.
