Crews battle fire at Publix construction site, OCFR says Publix: Fire has since been contained, extinguished No description found
WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Orange County Fire Rescue crews responded to a fire at a Publix that was under construction in Winter Garden Saturday afternoon, officials said.
Crews battled the fire on New Independence Parkway and State Road 429 around noon, Fire Rescue said.
Fire and heavy smoke were seen coming from the structure's roof.
Publix spokesman Dwaine Stevens said it appears that some paper on the roof caught fire, but officials are still not sure what caused the fire.
No other details were available.
