Deputies investigate after teen shot, killed in car

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 19-year-old was shot and killed during an altercation early Monday morning and Orange County deputies are searching for the vehicle involved.

The shooting was reported on Bywood Road just before 8:30 a.m.

Deputies said the victim, identified as 19-year-old Kristian McCauley was in the car on Bywood Road with two other people when the car stopped before making it to McCauley's house.

McCauley was shot during a fight, staggered down the street and collapsed in the road near his home, according to deputies.

His family called 911 and McCauley was taken to Florida Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A detailed suspect description was not immediately available, but deputies said the vehicle involved was described as a gray or white four-door sedan.

"What we’ve been able to piece together so far is that the victim as in a car with two other suspects," Jane Watrel with Orange County Sheriff's Office said. "Something happened in the car."

Deputies are hoping witnesses will come forward and contact them with information.
