Tires on 40 vehicles slashed at Orlando apartment complex

No property stolen, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. – Dozens of tenants at Studio Parc Apartments in Orlando woke up Sunday to their tires slashed. Witnesses told News 6 that Orlando police told them more than 40 vehicles had their tires slashed early Sunday.

"Frustrated, angry, upset, worried," resident Courtney Goosby said of the situation.

Orlando police left business cards with a case number and drew an X mark behind each car that was vandalized.

"I came out here and saw both of my tires slashed and I was just furious," resident Jamie Coyle said. "It's going to be like $200 out of my pocket, and you just always try to get ahead and you never can."

Some residents said they are waiting for tire shops to open Monday morning, and others were getting a head start on Sunday by making the tire repairs themselves.

"Dumbfounded. (I) didn't believe it," Goosby said. "You know, after I saw the neighbors out here, the police and everything, it's like, wow, it's reality."

The vandals only slashes the tires and didn't get away with any property, which has several victims asking what was the purpose. Many said the repairs will cost them hundreds of dollars just weeks before Christmas.

"Who ever did this is, you know, you should be really ashamed of yourself," resident Saijo Williams said.

Residents said early Saturday about 10 vehicles had their windows smashed in.

Victims said they will be more vigilant in case they are targeted again.
