Sujatha Guduru will appear in court Friday in Seminole County after Monday's shooting in Oviedo, in which she faces a charge of first-degree premeditated murder.  She was transferred to the Seminole County Jail after initially being placed in the Orange County Jail because the hospital she was taken to was in Orlando.

A sheriff's department spokeswoman tells Local 6 Guduru is still recovering from gunshot wounds to the chest, so her condition is being monitored in jail.

Before the shooting, investigators say Guduru emailed her brother that she was going to harm herself and her 17-year-old daughter, Chetana, an international baccalaureate student at Seminole High School in Sanford.

According to police, Guduru said she shot her daughter because she believed there would be no one to care for her after Guduru killed herself. It's not clear why she wanted to kill herself.

Classmates were urged to wear purple -- Chetana's favorite color -- on Friday.
