Palm Bay motorcyclist killed in Micco crash, FHP says

Other driver charged with DUI manslaughter, passenger arrested on warrant

MICCO, Fla. – Two people were arrested Wednesday night after a 50-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash along a rural stretch of Micco.

The deadly crash happened about 10:25 p.m. near the intersection of Micco and Brown roads in the southern Brevard town when a Ford SUV hit the side of a motorcycle, ejecting the motorcycle driver.

The motorcyclist, Jorge Rivera of Palm Bay, was pronounced dead at the scene, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The driver of a Ford SUV, Treasure Deal, 66, of Barefoot  Bay, was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter and the passenger, Barney Lynch, 56, was arrested on a warrant out of Wisconsin, according to FHP.

Deal and Lynch both made first appearances before a Brevard County judge Thursday.

A judge set deals bond at $16,000 under conditions that she cannot drive or drink alcohol.

Lynch waived his right to extradition.

A FHP investigation is ongoing.

Troopers say the crash was the first DUI-related fatal accident of the year in Brevard County under their investigation.
