Photo released in fatal Orange County hit-and-run

50-year-old Orlando man dies in crash, FHP says

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol on Thursday released a photo of a car that it said was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 50-year-old man earlier this week.

The photo shows a man next to a white 2009-2014 Acura TSX, which stopped after running over the man, according to the FHP. The driver then left the scene, troopers said.

The FHP said Demostenes Molinar Jr., of Orlando, was struck Tuesday night on Orange Blossom Trail at Clarcona Ocoee Road by another car before he was run over by the Acura.

According to the FHP, Molinar walked into the path of a 2000 Toyota Camry, which hit him and propelled him into another lane. The driver of the Acura then ran over Molinar, troopers said.

The Acura likely has damage to its front end and undercarriage, troopers said.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS or FHP at 407-737-2213.
