Boy, 16, hospitalized after shooting at Orlando bus stop, officials say

Teen walking with friend to bus stop when shot, deputies say

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized after a shooting at a bus stop Saturday, authorities said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the teen was shot while walking with his friend to a bus stop around 3:30 p.m. near San Antonio Avenue and Honour Road.

The teen was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in stable condition. Deputies said the victim's friend was unharmed in the shooting, deputies said.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, deputies said.

Witnesses told News 6 they heard multiple gun shots.

Police temporarily closed the bus stop where the shooting happened. Capt. Angelo Nieves, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said there was no indication if Saturday's incident was connected to Friday's bus stop shooting.
