Pickup plows into Orlando home, leaves gaping hole

No one injured in crash

ORLANDO, Fla. – A search is ongoing for the driver of a pickup truck who plowed into an Orlando home early Monday, leaving a gaping hole.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on Overdale Street at Donnybrook Drive, near Colonial Drive and State Road 417.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota Tacoma left the road for an unknown reason, struck two vehicles, drove through a fence and crashed into the home.

The driver then ran away, troopers said.

No one was injured in the crash.

The owner of the vehicle was interviewed by authorities, but the woman claimed she didn't know who had her pickup and her roommate was home at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation as troopers attempt to identify the driver of the vehicle.

County officials deemed the home unsafe.

FHP said the Tacoma was also involved in a hit-and-run crash with a parked vehicle and a light pole at Overdale and Millinocket Lane, minutes before the crash into the home.

That crash is also under investigation and charges are pending in that crash.
