Police search for serial flasher in Ormond Beach

3 women report similar incidents

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Police are looking for a man who they say has exposed himself to three different women in Ormond Beach during the past few months, according to the Ormond Beach Police Department.

A woman told police she was jogging on the beachside Aug. 22 when she noticed a man who was wearing only a T-shirt. As she got closer, the man pulled up his shirt to reveal his genitals.

The woman ran away and called police. She said she'd never seen the man before the incident.

Since then, two other women have reported similar incidents.

"They're naked, in sneakers, so I would say they're out of place," one neighbor said.

"I can't even imagine anybody in their right mind walking down the street naked, no matter what day or time or where," neighbor Beebe White said.

White said she's lived at Oaks Drive and Neptune for 10 years and said it's a quiet, tight-knit community. Recent reports of a flasher running around has everyone on edge.

"If he's that crazy, then you never know what he's going to do next," White said. "It's probably a good idea in this day and time for us to have a little thing of Mace."

Police said the man has been spotted three times since August, exposing himself to women jogging or walking their dogs. All three incidents happened between 5 and 5:30 a.m.

"I'm up early in the morning and lots of people walk here," neighbor Jim Carley said. "I would be really concerned if I was a female. I'm really concerned for the female members of my family."

The man was last seen Wednesday, the victim referring to him in the report as a "naked man," showing off his "sexual organs" and taking off running. This last time to a car waiting nearby.

"I can't imagine who this individual is or why they're selecting this neighborhood to do that. It's just awful," neighbor Sabria Tabaku said. "I think notifying as many friends as possible, notifying as many neighbors as possible so that everybody is aware of the situation."

Women described the man as a white male with dark wavy hair down to his chin, between the ages of 25 and 35. He's believed to weigh 150 to 175 pounds and is between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall. One woman said he might have fled in a dark compact vehicle, possibly a hatchback.

Officers said anyone who encounters the man should not approach him but should call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ormond Beach police at 386-677-0731 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS.
