Scott, who was re-elected in 2014, cannot seek another term as governor because of term limits.

The governor, who is attending the Republican Governors Association annual conference, also said he was excited that Republican Donald Trump was elected president. Scott said other Republicans who offered little or lukewarm support for Trump should now "embrace him."

Scott predicted that Trump will be a good partner with the state and will work on helping Florida get money for the Everglades and repairs to the Lake Okeechobee dike.
