People started lining up at 7 a.m., News 6 Vanessa Araiza reported.

The president spoke Friday evening at UCF's CFE Arena while campaigning for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Doors opened at 3 p.m. and Obama began speaking at about 6 p.m.

Air Force One touched down at 4:45 p.m. at Orlando International Airport. The president was greeted by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer at the airport before traveling to CFE Arena.

Clinton is looking to get a boost from Obama in the critical I-4 corridor 11 days before Election Day.

The last time the president came to Orlando was after the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in June. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden both visited with victims' families and laid white roses at the Dr. Phillips Center memorial.

News 6 has learned of a protest organized by Donald Trump supporters to take place on UCF's campus during Obama's speaking engagement.

In preparation for the event UCF closed the following roads and parking garages on Friday:

  • East Plaza Drive at 7 a.m.
  • West Plaza Drive at noon
  • Gemini Boulevard between East and West Plaza Drive at 1 p.m.

The roads will reopen after the event at 9 p.m.

Garage F closed at 7 a.m. Friday.

Students who live in Towers 1 and 2 and park in Garage G will need to move their vehicles by 7 a.m. All floors on the east side of Garage G, nearest to the arena will be closed for parking.
