ORLANDO, Fla. – President Donald Trump stated in his visit to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa to military members that the news media was purposely not covering terrorist attacks.
"It's gotten to a point where it's not even being reported," the president said. "In many cases, the very, very dishonest press doesn't want to report it. They have their reasons, and you understand that."

On the heels of this speech, White House press secretary Sean Spicer stated that Trump deemed many of these terrorist attacks "underreported." Then, the White House released a list of 78 examples of terrorist attacks that they felt did not receive enough coverage dating from September 2014 to December 2016.
Among them, was the Pulse nightclub shooting, which happened June 12 in Orlando.
Omar Mateen, the shooter who killed 49 and injured 53 others that June morning, was an American citizen. Born in New York in 1986, he later moved to Port St. Lucie and plotted his attach on the Orlando nightclub.
The day following the Pulse nightclub massacre, international and national media flooded Orlando, staying for several days. Outlets such as CNN, ABC, and CBS joined local Orlando outlets on the streets to find justice and tell the stories of those who were lost the Pulse massacre.
