SANFORD, Fla. – Two men were shot and killed by a masked intruder Monday night during a home invasion in Sanford, police said.
The Sanford Police Department was called around 9 p.m. to a home on Hayes Drive.
According to police, Joseph Smith, 28, died at the scene. Officers administered first aid to Roland DeLoatch, 41, when they arrived, but he was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he later died.
The intruder was wearing a mask, but the incident is not considered to be related to Halloween.
Sanford police is calling on the public for information about the shooting. Anyone with information can call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
No other details have been released.
